Giving to St. Clare

St. Clare-Newport is a not-for-profit health care agency of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence. Being a not-for-profit allows St. Clare-Newport to partner with our generous donors and volunteers, including our volunteer Advisory Board, providing leadership to help ensure that our outstanding care continues.

Your gift may be unrestricted to be used where it is most needed, designated to a special project or program or restricted for the endowment or capital campaign.

Your donations help support our mission and helps us continue to provide the person-centered, compassionate care for which St. Clare-Newport is known and respected. We invite you to invest in the future of St. Clare-Newport. There are several ways you can support our work.

Unrestricted giving

Unrestricted giving through our appeals or as an outright gift allows St. Clare-Newport to use the gift in the way most needed. Funds can be used to support life enrichment activities for the elders, special project support, staff training and development or any other pressing need. Unrestricted giving also qualifies you for inclusion in one of our donor circles, entitling you to special recognition and other benefits. Your gift may be made in honor or in memory of a loved one or friend.

Memorials and Tribute Giving

You may make a gift to St. Clare-Newport for a loved one, a friend, or someone special in your life to honor their memory, or celebrate a special occasion such as birthday, graduation, or anniversary. Many who receive care from St. Clare-Newport ask others to consider a charitable gift in lieu of flowers when their loved one has passed on as a special way to honor the staff members for their love and care.

Memorial or tribute donors receive an acknowledgement letter and the family or individual who requested gifts to St. Clare-Newport receives names and addresses of the donors for their personal acknowledgement.

Restricted giving

You many designate your gift to support a project or a program that may have special meaning for you. You may restrict your gift to benefit the Building Fund, for use in restoring and maintaining the Chapel, for elder well-being and activities, for staff training and enhancement, or for new technology, helping St. Clare-Newport maintain the excellent, cutting-edge services that make such a difference.

Planned Gifts and Bequests

Remembering St. Clare-Newport through a bequest or estate plan is a vital source of our financial strength. Bequest gifts may help fund the Daughters of the Holy Spirit Endowment for St. Clare to ensure future financial stability, or your gift may be donor designated to support a particular program, or you may wish to work with us personally to create a special fund.

The Endowment will be permanently invested and a small percentage of the income used each year.  Bequests and planned gifts may also be made in memory or honor of someone.

Matching Gifts

Please check with your employer to see if they offer a corporate matching gift program. This is an easy way to increase the impact of your personal contribution.

You may send your gift directly to St. Clare:
